Installation Instructions & FAQs

PRESET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

For Lightroom Classic:

1. Unzip the downloaded file titled Chestnut & Sage Ultimate Equine Preset and save the folder somewhere safe.

2. Open Lightroom and switch to the Develop mode.

3. On the left panel, locate the Presets tab. Scroll to find User Presets, right-click, and select Import….

4. A file browser window will open. Navigate to the unzipped folder, find the XMP Files, select them all, and click Import.

5. Your presets are now ready to use!

For Lightroom CC:

1. Unzip the downloaded file titled Chestnut & Sage Ultimate Equine Preset and keep the folder saved securely.

2. Open Lightroom CC. In the bottom-right corner, click the Presets tab.

3. In the sidebar that appears, click the three dots at the top, then choose Import Presets….

4. Browse to the unzipped folder, find the XMP Files, select them all, and click Import.

5. Your presets are now installed and ready to edit your photos.

For Photoshop (Mac):

1. Unzip the downloaded file titled Chestnut & Sage Ultimate Equine Preset and save the folder in a secure location.

2. Open Finder. In the top menu, click Go, then hold down the Option key to reveal the Library folder. Click on Library.

3. Navigate to Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw > Settings.

4. Copy all the .xmp files from the unzipped folder into the Settings folder.

5. Open Camera Raw, and the presets will be ready for use.

For Photoshop (Windows):

1. Unzip the downloaded file titled Chestnut & Sage Ultimate Equine Preset and save it where it won’t be deleted.

2. Open File Explorer, and enable hidden files by going to View > Options > Change folder and search options > View tab, then selecting Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

3. Navigate to C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings.

4. Copy all the .xmp files from the unzipped folder into the Settings folder.

5. Open Camera Raw, and your presets are ready to go!

What if I don’t see the “Presets” tab in Lightroom?

If the Presets tab doesn’t appear, ensure you’ve updated Lightroom to the latest version. Older versions may not support the current preset format.

My presets look different on my photos. Why?

Presets are designed to work as a starting point. Since every photo is different in terms of lighting, colours, and exposure, you may need to tweak settings like brightness, contrast, or saturation to achieve your desired result. I also include an "amount" slider, so you can always tone down my presets more or less intense, depending on your needs.

Can I use these presets on mobile?

Yes! Install the presets in Lightroom CC on your desktop, and they’ll automatically sync with the Lightroom mobile app if you’re signed in with the same Adobe account.

Do the presets work with RAW and JPEG files?

Yes, the presets work with both file types, but they’re optimised for RAW files, as these offer more flexibility in editing.

What should I do if I accidentally delete the preset files?

No worries! Simply refer to your purchase confirmation email, where you can download the preset files again. Make sure to back them up to a safe location after downloading.
